Eligibility for all positions advertised by Teach Beyond Recruitment Ltd is dependent on the requirements set by our partner schools, and the visa requirements of the country in which the school is located. We work with schools located in Mainland China and Hong Kong, in order to obtain the required working visa candidates must:

  1. Possess a Bachelor's Degree or above

  2. Possess a TEFL Certification or equivalent

  3. Be a Native Level English Speaker

  4. Have a clear Criminal Record

If you meet these requirements, great! If not, unfortunately you will no be able to find legal employment teaching English in Mainland China or Hong Kong. 

Equally important are the requirements of the school to which you are applying. In most cases roles in Kindergartens, Public Schools and International Schools will require 2 years of teaching experience. Although Language Centers still value prior teaching experience it is not usually required. For all roles, personality is key!

What Schools are looking for......

Unlike with teaching jobs in your home country potential employers are not only evaluating your ability to teach but also to do so in a completely new environment, outside of your comfort zone. It's important to demonstrate both in your application and during your interview that you are an enthusiastic and adventurous individual who is able to adapt to new challenges and embrace the difficulties and differences you'll encounter when living  and teaching abroad. Be friendly, bubbly and enthusiastic. Make sure you have done your research on the company and country you are applying for, but still be inquisitive and ask questions. Tell employers why you love teaching, and why you have chosen to take on this challenge.
