Another cheap day out - Boat trips from Sai Kung
For some of the best beaches and coastline Hong Kong has to offer, try a trip to Sai Kung. With markets, beaches and kayaks for hire there is plenty to do. We decided to take a boat trip to a nearby island.
For just HKD$50 you can buy a pass which allows you on any of the boats with a green roof and red flag. Don't worry they're easy to spot! Pay your fee, take your ticket and hop on a boat next to the Main Pier.
We planned to spend a day relaxing at Half Moon Bay, it's the second stop that the boat makes on it's journey. However, when we got there it was surprisingly crowded and the shore was quite rocky. Undeterred we hopped back on the next boat we saw!
This boat took us to Sharp Island. There was much more room to relax, far fewer people and a refreshment stand. Perfect!
As the clouds rolled in we hopped on the last boat back to Sai Kung, somehow avoiding the rain!
